Robbie Stonebraker is the Inspector for the Shelbyville Fire Department. Annually, he conducts thousands of inspections on businesses in the fire district of the Shelbyville Fire Department. As part of his duties, he consults with businesses on how to make their employees and customers safer. Our Inspector also works with new businesses to Shelbyville by recommending safety practices that occur before construction of the new business even starts. One of the items that Inspector Stonebraker encourages businesses to put in is a Knox Box. A Knox Box is a secured box that contains contact information for the business and keys to the business. In the event of an alarm to the business, the firefighters can retrieve the key from the Knox Box rather than forcibly entering the building. The net result is less damage. Arson Investigations:

Kevin McLeod is our head Arson Investigator at the Shelbyville Fire Department. Captain McLeod heads this division with the assistance of Investigators Jim Young and Shane Scott. Our investigation division is responsible for finding the cause of any fire that occurs in our jurisdiction. They work in relationship with the Shelbyville Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, and the State Fire Marshall’s Office. In the past, they have also worked in conjunction with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Our investigation division also works with juvenile fire setters.
